What is FLAMEingo Drive?
The UIC softball team will be partnering with the UIC Kinesiology Club and the American Cancer Society for the first annual FLAMEingo drive. Our drive will cover a 4 month period, during which we will be collecting donations for the Taking Strides Against Breast Cancer event hosted by the American Cancer Society. At the end of the drive one pink flamingo will be donated for every 10 dollars collected. The flamingos will be displayed the day before our breast cancer awareness game (April 27th) and will be handed out to the fans on the day of the game.
Why We Support the American Cancer Society?
We know that the American Cancer Society is the leader in the fight to end breast cancer. We know that supporting them will ensure that if you need someone to talk to anytime of the day or night, they will be there. If your friend is losing her hair from chemo, your mother needs a ride to treatment, or a loved one needs a place to stay when treatment is far from home, they will be there to help.
Thank you for your support!
