Veteran's Park, Macomb, IL

The Festival of L.I.F.E. idea came to be in early 2016, after the discovery that a Relay For Life was no longer taking place in Macomb.  The American Cancer Society gladly decided to partner with us, as well as the Macomb Park District, to help make this a successful and community-friendly event.

The Festival of L.I.F.E. will be a one-day, family friendly event to raise money for cancer awareness, research and services. It will have components similar to a Relay For Life, such as an opening Survivor Lap to honor those who have battled cancer and a Luminaria ceremony to end the event to remember those who we have lost to cancer.  There will be food, games and entertainment all day; a tentative schedule of events can be found below.

1:00 PM - Opening Ceremony; Survivors Lap, Caregivers Lap

2 - 8 PM - Great music, delicious food, games and on-site fundraisers!

8:00 PM - Luminaria and Closing Ceremony

Registration for the Festival of L.I.F.E. is highly encouraged. The registration fee is $10 per person, whether registering as an individual or as part of a team.

There will be a track for anyone wanting to walk at the event. The symbolism of the walking is that we will never stop walking until we find a cure for cancer.  Individual and team participants are encouraged to walk one hour at minimum; there will be incentives for those wishing to walk more.

We hope to have a great turn out for the Festival of L.I.F.E.  Cancer affects nearly everyone in one way or another and we will continue fighting until there is a cure.  Grab your family, friends and coworkers and form a team for the Festival of L.I.F.E.  We look forward to seeing you on October 7th!
