In 2009, over 5,100 communities joined the Fight Against Cancer by participating in Relay For Life events on College/University campuses, High School campuses and Community sites. Nationwide, more than 3.5 million participants took part in these Relay For Life events.
Every participant has a Reason to Relay -- some are survivors of childhood cancers, some participate to honor loved ones battling the disease, some walk in remembrance of those who have lost their lives, and still others have no personal connection to the fight but have heard a moving story that compels them to action. Regardless, we all walk together, Fighting Back in hope that one day cancer will be eliminated.
