James Anthony Calder of Yardley, passed away peacefully Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015, with loved ones by his side. He was just shy of 67.
James was the beloved husband and best friend of Gayle (Clifford) Calder for 42 years. They met at a college dance and the rest is history.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y. James and Gayle started their family in Long Island, N.Y. and moved to Yardley in 1986 to raise their three children.
James was an electrical engineer and worked for several aerospace companies before finishing his career as the Managing Editor of the Proceedings of the IEEE.
His biggest joy in life was spending quality time with his family and friends. He loved his wife, children and grandchild with a passion and fought to be with them until the end. He spent summers at his beach house in Ocean Grove, N.J. and enjoyed family vacations to Europe. His hobbies included writing, taking pictures, and riding his tricycle to the beach.
He had razor sharp wit and loved parties, holidays and sharing laughs. He had kind eyes but a kinder soul and a brilliant mind.
He is loved by his wife, Gayle; children, Erin Scarnato and husband, Peter Scarnato; son, James Calder and wife, Melissa Calder; and son, Peter Calder and fiancé, Megan Barber; granddaughter, Maisie Calder; sister, Janet Duggan; sisters-in-law, Shelly Clifford and Kathy Packard; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
