Together, we are making a difference!

Most of you know the legend of Johnny Appleseed but few of you probably know that the last living tree planted by this Americn legend still grows on a small family farm in Nova Ohio. I have teamed up with the American Cancer Society, the Franklin Park Conservatory and American Forests to bring a cutting (essentaly a clone of the original tree) back to Columbus to be planted on the Conservatory grounds as part of their permanent collection.

The drive from Columbus to Nova, OH is only about an hour and a half but this Summer I will walk from the Franklin Park Conservatory in Columbus, 85 miles north to Nova in search of this historical tree. American Forests, America's oldest historic tree registry, has kindly donated a live rooted cutting from this tree, which I will then walk back to Columbus to be planted on the grounds of the Conservatory. In all, the trip will be about 170 miles and take 6 days. The twist however, is that I will make the entire trip with nothing but what I take with me from the beginning. Food, shelter, everything I use or need.

By donating above, you are not only helping to bring a piece of living American history to Columbus, you’re helping the American Cancer Society bring cancer treatments to thousands of people. Your donations will also help the Franklin Park Conservatory and American Forests keep tomorrow green for everyone!

All funds raised on this site will go to the American Cancer Society.

This year, hundreds of thousands of people will hear the words "You have cancer," and there's a good chance that some of them will be people we know and love. I have chosen to fight back against this disease and help make a difference by supporting the American Cancer Society’s mission to eliminate cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service

Please help me!
