The Man Behind the Bash

Morris (Buddy) Hopkins was a kinder and gentler man that knew how to make you feel better about everything with a wave of his wand. His wand was his word, and his ability to calm even the greatest mental storm.

Cancer took our friend too soon, but we will keep his spirit alive and help fight cancer at the annual Buddy Bash.

Good people like Buddy should be able to share their wisdom on this planet and cancer prevents that too often. We can all help SMASH cancer at the annual "Buddy Bash".

Buddy and I were close friends from the moment we met 18 years ago. He always knew what to say when you were troubled or upset, and he always knew how to turn a negetive into something positive. We loved to share cooking secrets, and entertain others.I loved him dearly, and still depend on him for advise! I wish my dad were here to give me away and walk me down the isle when I marry on June 14th - Sometimes I still can't believe he's gone; I miss him so much and I regret not knowing him all of my life.

I think back to when i would come visit during the summers and all the times when he probably should have lost his patience with jimmy, eddy and myself because we were always into something, but never did. God blessed jimmy and Eddy with a special dad.

Dad was a special father, he always put my brother and I first in his life. There was nothing he would not do to make sure that we knew we were loved and special to this earth. If I walked up to dad and said I need some money, he would open his wallet and split what he had in there with me or my brother. I remember one time when I was in band at school, we were going to an away game that was 200 miles off. The football team got this big bus from Gray Hound Bus Lines, well dad thought the band should to. So he donated $300.00 just so I could ride in style with a bathroom. He was the best dad in the world! There are so many stories of things just like this that dad did for Eddy and I. I miss him every day. But I know he would be proud and honored to know that all the people who loved him and that he loved would strive to keep his spirit alive with things like what Randy is doing on the crawfish boil. Dad touched many lives in his short 61 years on this earth, there is so many people he cared about, when he was at his sickest that is still what he was doing, asking how everybody was, he wasnt feeling sorry for himself, he wanted to know how others were. Dad told me that if anything good come out of his sickness, that was that we should all be sure and get checked every year for cancer. Don't wait till it is to late. Go get scanned. I love you dad.

Buddy's ability was a God given gift to give people to see that there is "life or death in our words" and also "blessed is the peace maker for he shall have peace"
Buddy was a peacemaker we should all follow that path like he did and he is where " come unto Me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give rest" home forever.....miss his presence
