Dear Fellow Relayers,
Welcome to the 2014 Relay season. First of all, I would like to congratulate all of you who helped us raise over $213,000 in 2013 to fight this dreadful disease!! I wanted to take a moment to share some important information.
Sponsorship - I have great news from ACS.
Sponsorships will now count toward your team goal. So, if you get a local business to sponsor
our event with a track marker or a larger sponsorship, those sponsorship
dollars will be credited to your team instead of to the general Venice Relay
fund!! If your team members get 4
businesses to buy track markers, you have $1000 more money for your team!! Sponsorship packets and track marker forms are located under documents above.
Committee Openings – We still have a few open positions on the committee. If you are interested in serving on the committee, feel free to contact me at email@example.com!!!
Theme – Because 2014 is an Olympic year, the committee voted on “Carrying a Torch for the Cure”. The Relay will have an Olympic theme; teams will choose a different country or country and a sport – like the Swiss Swimmers. The team lap would be like the Parade of Nations at Opening Ceremonies. Themes will be chosen in the order you register on line; so get your team registered now!!
Registration – Teams no longer pay a $100 fee to register, but each individual must pay $10 to register.
I am very excited about this year’s Relay and I look forward to working with all of you throughout the year!!

In the fight against cancer, silence is the last thing we need. Your local American Cancer Society Relay For Life event is a great place to take action and make noise. The Relay For Life movement features community and campus events that offer an inspiring opportunity to honor cancer survivors, promote how individuals can reduce their cancer risk, and raise money to help end cancer. Today, with the support of thousands of volunteers, the American Cancer Society is helping save more than 400 lives a day. And we won't stop until we finish the fight against cancer!
