Hello Relayers!  The day is here, and we are so excited.   The day has brought us a few challenges, but nothing that is insurmountable.  It is providing a good reminder of how we must persevere during times of challenge.  The Relay committee has developed a plan to handle the less than perfect weather.  We will be having a combination indoor/outdoor event.  Rachel’s Rally and the Relay For Life will begin at their scheduled times.   Game booths, food vendors, the survivor’s dinner, and the silent auction will begin indoors at 5:30.  City stage performers (small stage) will be in the cafeteria throughout the event.  Rachel’s Rally will be held inside the main gym at 6:00 p.m.  All other activities, including Relay opening ceremonies, survivor lap, track walking, main stage band entertainment will remain on a flexible schedule dependent on weather.  A final decision on the status of overnight stay will be made by 5:30 p.m.

Rachel's Rally/Relay For Life Is Here! Check Out Our Rain Plan The forecast is looking a little rough for May 11, but we are hopeful it will go completely around us and let us have our fun. However, just in case, Carroll ISD, the American Cancer Society and our amazing team of Planning Committee Volunteers have developed a RELAY RAIN PLAN in the event we need to move our entire May 11 event inside Carroll High School.

We will watch the weather carefully and make this determination based on the forecast, the severity of the weather and all other related factors. We will do it as soon as possible to set up for an indoor event, but our overall goal is to have the outside, all-night event. Rain showers throughout the day will not cancel the event or move it in doors necessarily. Storms, wind and lightning would be a different matter all together.

Just because you wake up and it is rainy on Friday does NOT mean we have enacted the Rain Plan. We will make email, Facebook and Twitter announcements, text, use our website, and our telephone notification system to announce that we have enacted our Rain Plan. Unless you hear from these multiple sources that we have moved indoors, expect the regular schedule to proceed as planned.

In the event we enact our RAIN PLAN, the event will still begin at 5:30 p.m. as planned, but it will end at midnight. Shuttle buses will run and parking lot permit parking will be enforced as we are able. We will set up in CHS in the following manner:

Bank Day is May 7th from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.  It will be held on the second floor of the Fire/Police Station on North Carroll Avenue. 

It is mandatory that you send a representative from your team to turn in paperwork and pick up your Relay shirts.  Don't forget your Silent Auction item either!
