THIS YEAR ONLY,
our Relay event will offer the unique opportunity to participate
first-hand in a landmark new study, the Cancer Prevention Study-3
(CPS-3).
"Residents
of Peabody and Northshore communities have an unprecedented opportunity
to participate in a historic study that has the potential to change the
face of cancer for future generations.
Men and women between the ages of 30 and 65 who have never
been diagnosed with cancer are needed to participate in the American
Cancer Society’s Cancer Prevention Study-3 (CPS-3). CPS-3 will enroll a
diverse population of up to half a million people across the United
States and Puerto Rico.
If
you are unable to enroll in the study, please forward this email and
form to someone you know who would be interested and able to enroll.
The
opportunity for local residents to enroll in CPS-3 will occur during
this year’s Peabody Relay for Life on June 15, 2012 at the Peabody
Veterans Memorial High School, 485 Lowell Street in Peabody.
CPS-3 will help researchers better understand the lifestyle, environmental, and genetic factors that cause or prevent cancer.
If
you are interested in participating in this study, please complete the
attached Interest Indication Form to me, or just simply reply to this
email - you will be added to the mailing list and received a reminder
email before Relay.
