Relay for Life Survivor
Information (Captains - please make copies and give to your
survivors)
There will be special parking for
all survivors – We have made up yellow cards with (SURVIVOR) on
them. Please place them on your dashboard or under wiper on the
driver’s side.
To get to parking area, you will enter
at the traffic light in front of Oaklawn and proceed through the
tunnel.
The guys from Teen Challenge will be
helping with parking and we want to make sure you get to the correct
spot.
We will have golf carts available to
pick up survivors who are not able to walk to the registration area,
where the Lake Hamilton Steppin Wolves & Coach Chris Groves will
be there to check your name off and assist.
We encourage all survivors to
register online which will expedite the process the night of Relay.
We had a line form at registration last year, and we don’t want
anyone to have to stand in the sun too long. Especially as hot as it
was! We are hoping for the weather to be a little cooler this year!
There will be chairs available for survivors to sit and register, if
they were not able to do it ahead of time. They can type Relay
for Life – Garland County, Arkansas
in the search box. Be
sure to include (Arkansas)!
After survivors check in, they will be
directed to do the Hands for Hope, with the Lakeside GoldDuster’s &
Coach Tonja Bolding assisting. Wipes will be provided to clean hands
from the paint. This sheet will later become a quilt for 2012.
Survivors will get their medal and proceed on to the Genesis tent for
t-shirt and snacks.
Not feeling well, just had surgery
or chemo? Not a Problem!
We will have reserved seating for those
survivors who need carts. Those chairs will be the first two rows in
the Genesis tent (located beside the registration area). Some of our
Steppin Wolves and committee members will be available to assist in
getting you on and off the carts.
We ask that Walkers line up behind the
carts. We sometimes have more than 12 survivors who need carts and
we need the carts back in order to pick up the 2nd group.
We want this to be a fun, pleasant,
uplifting experience for survivors because this walk is to honor
them!
