Team Captain's Corner Team leaders are the heart and soul of Relay For Life! You don't have to have any special background to form a team. Here's step by step information on how you can form a Relay team and what you would do for the event if you had a team:
1-Get together a group of people you know who would like to help out a great cause. You must then register the team right on this website or by calling (570) 562-9749.
2-If you form a team, you would then get the word out about Relay and ask for donations from people you know by talking to them face to face, or through phone calls, letters, e-mails, and social media, like Facebook and Twitter.
3-You can also raise money for Relay by holding fundraisers, like Bingo Night, Skate Night, Zumba Class, and a golf event.
4-Finally, if you do have a team, get ready to have a fun and amazing 24 hours at the main Relay event, which is a culmination of all the teams' efforts. You will be camping out and walking along with a numbers of other teams from all over the community, all while raising awareness of the wonderful work The American Cancer Society does. There's also a lot of activities and moving ceremonies at the event.
Please consider forming a team and stay tuned to The Team Captain's Corner in the coming months for more tips!
