Team Spotlight!
Fourteen years ago, a co-worker asked Vicki Keller if she would be interested in participating in the Relay For Life. Vicki was familiar with the American Cancer Society from being involved in Daffodil Days and decided to come on board as a team member. From that moment on, Keller has been hooked and took over the next year when the team captain stepped down. Cancer Bytes is comprised of the CSE department at Penn State, as well as friends and family. A key to their success is selling snacks and candy bars in the CSE office year round. Vicki wants new teams to know that it never hurts to just ask! “Few people will turn you away if you use a personal approach,” Keller says. Keep up the great work Cancer Bytes!! We really appreciate it!

This year, select Relay events in our community are offering the unique opportunity to participate first-hand in a landmark new study, the Cancer Prevention Study-3 (CPS-3).The American Cancer Society will be enrolling people into CPS-3, a long-term study that will help researchers better identify the lifestyle, environmental, and genetic factors that cause or prevent cancer.
Please spread the word and visit the Cancer Prevention Study-3 website for more information about how to participate in research today for a cancer free tomorrow.
