Cancer is something many people hear often in their life, or not often and are caught of guard. I can only speak from my personal experiences and I will say, IT'S SCARY ! You feel shocked, scared, alone, overwhelmed, confussed, just everything.
When my son was 3 I felt all those things. That is why I have become so active with our Corcoran Commuinty's Relay. People want to make a difference. I wanted to make a difference. For the past 6 years I've seen our Relay grow by leaps and bounds. Last year we battled the rain and Corcoran you ROCKED! Let's keep that up this year!
I'd like to encourage anyone weather it be team captains, participants or just someone visiting this site randomly to feel free to share your story. Email it to me and I'd be more than happy to post it here on our website. After all this is your site and what better way to motivate the community than post community stories!

This year only, selected Relay events in our community are offering the unique opportunity to
participate first-hand in a landmark new study, the Cancer Prevention
Study-3 (CPS-3). The American Cancer Society will be enrolling people
into CPS-3, a long-term study that will help researchers better identify
the lifestyle, environmental, and genetic factors that cause or prevent
cancer. Please spread the word and visit the Cancer Prevention Study-3 website to find an enrollment location near you and for more information about how to participate in research today for a cancer free tomorrow!
