The Fauquier County community came together to fight cancer at the 2010 American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Fauquier County. More than 58 teams and 1,000 participants walked the track and raised awareness and dollars to help the American Cancer Society save lives, help those touched by cancer, and empower people to fight back against this disease. In addition, 125 cancer survivors were honored by our community.
After an emotional Survivors’ Victory Lap around the track, teams began camping out and doing what they do best – fighting cancer! At dusk, over 2,000 luminaria were lit in honor of or in memory of people fighting cancer, and the glimmers of hope burned through the night and into the morning.
For the 5th year, teams could register and make donations online through our event official Web site. More than 58 teams registered on the site and more than $200,000 was raised here. In fact, donations can still be made online and the site will stay live through August 31, 2010 - www.fauquierrelay.com to make a donation today.
Thank you for you dedication to the American Cancer Society Relay For Life. Together, we can accelerate the progress against cancer.
