Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks unite communities behind the American Cancer Society's efforts to save lives from breast cancer. Making Strides of St Louis reflects its own community, here's what you can expect at our event:

Check-In Opens

7:30 - 8:30 am - Simmons Bank Check In Tent Opens

If you have registered online:

Check in is simple if you've already signed up online. You should have received an email with you check-in ID before the walk. Print it out and bring it to the check-in tent along with any donations on the day of the walk.

If you have not registered online:

Please come to the check-in area to complete a paper registration form. Turn in your completed form along with any donations.



Opening Ceremony

8:30 am - Opening Ceremonies take place on the JM Family Enterprises Main Stage 

Come together with survivors, caregivers, men and women from all walks of life who are passionate about saving lives from breast cancer. Celebrate your shared efforts. Inspire each other to carry on. And take comfort in the knowledge that because of your dedication, no one walks alone. We will be recognizing our teams, Pacesetters, Real Men Wear Pink and our 2017 Portraits of Hope! So make sure you plan to arrive before 8:30 am! 

We will be kicking off our main stage entertainment at 7:30 am with Kerry Gibson from Utopia Entertainment! We will have a FUN and interactive warm up for all ages! It is also Halloween weekend, so come in your best costume or PINK attire! There may be a prize for the best dressed! 



Walk Begins

9:00 am - We take off from the SLU Cancer Center Start - Finish Line! 

Be sure that your team is ready to go at least 15 minutes before your designated start time. We will take off from the main stage area and make our way to the SLU Cancer Center Start - Finish Line. Breast Cancer Survivors we will be taking our annual photo, so please gather at the start finish line at 8:55 am! 


Where To Meet Your Team

Forest Park-Lower Muny Lot

Where to meet: Our event will take place in Forest Park - Lower Muny Lot! We suggest meeting your team at the Simmons Bank Check In Tent, as each participant needs to check in when they arrive! Be on the lookout for emails to all of our registered team leaders and participants for instructions.

For Survivors And Caregivers

Survivor check-in: 7:30 - 8:30 am at the SLU Cancer Center Survivor Tent 

Survivors, check in when you arrive at the walk. Please fill out a paper registration form or sign up online at www.MakingStridesWalk.org/StLouisMO.

Survivor area: 7:30 - 8:30 am at the SLU Cancer Center Survivor Tent 

The survivor area is a special area for survivors and the caregivers attending with them. We include both survivors and caregivers to make sure everyone is as comfortable as possible. You'll pick up your special Making Strides survivor gift as well as participate in our special survivor activity artwork, which will hang proudly at the American Cancer Society St. Louis offices. 



Making Strides Against Breast Cancer events raise money for an important cause. But that doesn't mean they aren't meant to be fun. So don't miss the entertainment! Join us for the following:

Feature: Entertainment on the Main Stage!

We are excited to have Kerry from Utopia Entertainment leading the FUN on the JM Family Enterprises Main Stage! We will have a fun and  interactive warm up, as well as a post walk cool down! So get your dancing shoes on - and get there early to join in the fun! 

Feature: Kids Entertainment Area

The Lodging Hospitality Management Kids Entertainment Area is packed with FUN for all ages! We have balloon artists, face painters, caricature artists, inflatables, fish eye photo booth, and the GIANT Pink Chair! So get there early to enjoy the fun, and when you get done with the walk - Utopia Entertainment will keep the party going, and we will have the bubble bus and some new features added to the Kids Area!! 

Feature: Food at Making Strides! 

We will have food at Making Strides this year! When you arrive to the event, we will have our friends from Starbucks serving coffe and cake pops! Along the route, we will have 3 water stops. When you return we will have 2 Healthy snack options, cookies from Doubletree Hotels, as well as sliders from Slide Piece STL Food Truck! 


After The Walk

We all walk together, but our event is not a race. Stop whenever you want or need to. You absolutely do not need to complete the entire walk if you are unable. Upon finishing the walk, please join us for post walk entertainment on the JM Family Enterprises Main Stage and water and healthy snacks. The walk concludes when the final walker crosses the finish line.

Welcome to our Team Page. We’ve formed a team because this cause is important to us. We want to help. And walking and raising money in our local American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event is the best way we can do that. We all have different reasons for participating but we share a determination to help save lives from breast cancer.

There are so many ways that the money our team raises helps. It’s helping fund innovative research. It’s providing free information for people dealing with the disease. It’s providing rides to treatment and places to stay for people who have to seek treatment far from home. In short, our money is helping save lives. Consider donating to our team and helping advance the cause.

How We Support the American Cancer Society

Of course we walk in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event. And we solicit donations from family, friends, and other supporters. But we also schedule fundraisers in lead-up to the big event. Bake-sales, car washes, and countless other types of events. And we promote those on social media, through Facebook and Twitter, by word of mouth, and through flyers at work and around the neighborhood. The success of fundraising events depends on two things - hard work and getting the word out. And we're out to do both. Keep an eye out for our fundraising events.
