Why I Participate in a Relay Event

This is my beautiful daughter Amber Higgs, she is a two-time cancer survivor. Amber was 15 the first time she was diagnosed with cancer. She went through treatment and we were heading into 5 years cancer free when we got the 2nd diagnosis.

It's funny, you think you are prepared for it but when it actually happens it still hits you like a sucker punch. Amber had surgery in November 2012 to remove the cancer and today, February 27, 2013, was her first 3 month check-up since surgery.

We are believing that all will be well and I ask that you help support us in this fight against this often deadly and always terrifying disease.

 Amber Higgs is the reason I Relay, every day she inspires me to be a better person.
