Curts Ride To Cure Cancer 2016
2016 Your Personal Fundraiser
Curts Ride To Cure Cancer 2016
Goal: $30,000.00
This year, hundreds of thousands of people will hear the words "You have cancer." They will be people we know and love. Because nearly everyone has been touched by cancer in some way, we've decided to show our support and make a difference by conducting "Curt's Ride to Cure Cancer" to support the American Cancer Society’s lifesaving work. Using the links on this page, you can join our fight against cancer by clicking Join our Team or Donate. Today, there is more hope than ever for people facing cancer. We hope you will help us. Curt's Ride to Cure Cancer is a 620-mile bicycle ride along the east coast of Florida, following the route established by the East Coast Greenway. Departing from the Georgia-Florida border at Amelia Island on October 3, 2015, the ride will arrive in Key West on October 10, covering 75-100 miles each riding day. This 620-mile ride will raise funds for the American Cancer Society, and raise awareness for all those that have been affected by cancer. On behalf of all of them, we are asking for your help and support for Curt’s Ride to Cure Cancer. Your contribution will help the American Cancer Society fulfill their mission to eliminate cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service. And for those that might be local to the ride route and so inclined, it would be great to have you ride along for a day - or for the whole thing! Ride with us and lend your moral support. Or even better, consider becoming a Curt's Ride to Cure Cancer team member and helping with our efforts! ================================ About Curt's Ride to Cure Cancer: Curt Ewald was a friend and former classmate from Herndon High School (HHS 1976, Herndon VA). Early in the summer of 2010, Curt was diagnosed with Stage IV adenocarcinoma in the lungs. As Curt prepared for the journeys ahead, he displayed the most amazing outlook on life, was one of the most open and communicative of friends, and showed the most well-balanced understanding of what was before him, of anyone that you could ever know. Curt's insights about his journey were conveyed in his own words in this edition of "Dr. Len's Cancer Blog" on the American Cancer Society web: http://www.cancer.org/AboutUs/DrLensBlog/post/2010/09/04/A-Message-From-Curt.aspx .
