My Reason to Relay
Thank you for being my friend, for supporting me in my fight against cancer. Each year, I raise money for the American Cancer Society. I fight in celebration of victories over this disease--Mom, Granny, Jim, and many other friends and family members.
Along with the celebrations come losses. In early February, I lost two girlfriends on the same day to breast cancer. Like me, both were mommies to two great kids, actively engaged in their communities, and loved life. Both fought to stay here longer with their families, and we celebrated each day they survived cancer. But they left us far too soon.
As the daughter and granddaughter of cancer survivors and victims, I am passionately committed to helping find a cure for cancer, and working to make life better for cancer survivors and caregivers. I believe that the American Cancer Society makes a difference in the fight against cancer--through education, advocacy, and research efforts, as well as in supporting those diagnosed with cancer. Because of that, I'm participating this year as a fundraiser, team member, team captain, ad online chair for Reston Relay. I am also co-chairing the National Capital Area Task Force on Relay For Life.
Cancer will not stop for the economy; it doesn't sleep, so neither can I. I need your help to make it stop. I'm not asking for much--just a little bit--$5 or $10 from 100 different friends can go a very long way. I'm tired of losing loved ones to cancer and seeing friends lose loved ones to cancer. I'm tired of seeing family and friends go through this horrible disease.
I Relay because I believe The American Cancer Society will help us cross the finish line, and defeat cancer.
Please make a donation to me or join my team by visiting www.topsitesforyou.com/RelayKristina. You are helping deliver the hope that future generations will not have to endure cancer threatening the lives of their friends and family. You have the power to fight back against a disease that affects too many people.
:) Kristina
