WHY I RELAY? Cancer affects EVERYONE!
7 years ago I was diagnosed with Endometrial Cancer, had a radical hysterectomy, internal & external radiation and then followed with 5 years of bi-annual catscans. I am a survivor. Not everyone is so lucky. My wonderful neighbor and friend Chris Patton fought a tough battle last year with colorectal cancer and at the age of 43 lost his fight just 3 weeks after we celebrated him at the Relay Survivor lunch. We will always miss you Chris.
Relay for Life is for survivors, for those who have lost loved ones and for those who want to help eradicate this awful disease. Cancer affects everyone!
On 6/12 we walk a continuous walk around the track at Sherwood High. It's a community spirited walk to honor and remember those affected by cancer.. At dusk-we stop to remember--with a breath taking, somber memorial for those lost.
