My Reason to Relay I Relay because I want to see an end to cancer during my lifetime. Relay gives me the unique opportunity to celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and support the American Cancer Society’s lifesaving mission by fighting back against a disease that has already taken too much.

Hello my name is Amy and I truly want to make a difference and give people some hope for the fight against cancer. I don't want to give you my story because I would like to tell about my mothers story this is a big part of why I want to do this. My mother Kathleen or Katie is what My dad called her was a mother of 11 and a grandmother of 22 kids she started working as a cna then worked her way up. She took care of all of her kids worked and went to school but still had dinner done for us. She had to take on all of the house hold stuff when my father lost his legs due to diabetes and was out of work, Katie's job just got harder but she still did it not because she had to but because she loved her family and it was the best for them. She will always be the strongest women I know. She gave so much to do what was best for us always the right thing. When she found out about her cancer it was to late she found out in October and passed away in Dec. She was the glue that held the family togther. We made sure she was happy and comfy when she passed and we all where with her but it was so hard when my mother looked up at me not knowing who me or my family was. I want people to know that help and hope is there if you need it because you really don't know unless you have been there and it is hard enough to ask for help.So I would like to be here to help people that are going threw this even if I don't know them it is just the right thing to do.My team name is Live Well,Love Much,Laugh Often it was my moms way of life and it is writing on her grave stone to remind us everyday so that is what I would like to do we all want to do what is right in our hearts xoxoxoxo
