My Reason to Relay...I relay for him
Imagine a World Without Cancer
My Dad loved to talk, loved music, loved to dance but most importantly loved to talk. He was a great dresser. He was known for wearing his striped white and black suit to every formal gathering, with his matching striped handkerchief. He loved sports and became a die-hard Redskins fan. He never knew anything about soccer until his daughters joined a soccer team. He instantly became their high school team’s lead parent cheerleader. He would make up sayings to inspire the girls to win. The most memorable shouts were “Work it” and “Get that ball outta there.”
At every gathering, no matter where or what the occasion, you could find Dad picking out friends to join him in singing one of many old doo-wops. "Give me an ‘ooo’", he’d say. No matter how off-key the participant would be, Dad would say, “Perfect, now hold that key.” And he’d continue to put together a harmony for that song until he got to the 4th line and couldn’t remember the rest of the words.
He had an infectious personality and was never at a loss for words.
He spent the first 38 years of his life in the DC area creating fantastic memories that will last his family and friends forever. He spent the last 30 years of his life with his wife, creating a wonderful family life in Southern Maryland. He spent the last 4 months of his life battling cancer. He died peacefully at his home with his wife and children by his side. He was a happy and kind soul who more than likely is recruiting angels to help him sing the “Duke of Earl’.
Let's come together to put an end to cancer. So we no longer have to lose the good souls that make this world a better place.
