My Reason to Relay
My life has been touched by cancer in many different ways. It has personally effected three of my loved ones.
The first time I ever noticed the devastation of cancer was back in January of 2007 when I lost the man who I called my "uncle", Charlie, to lung cancer. He was my parents best friend and an amazingly talented man. I had never realized up until that point what it meant to want to fight against this horrible disease.
After, in October of 2008, I learned that my Aunt Znette was diagnosed with breast cancer. After a long battle, I learned not too long ago that all is going well and there are no signs of any remaning cancer. I can't explain the joy I feel when I am able to say to someone that my Aunt Z is a breast cancer survivor and I am blessed for that.
But, cancer never hit as hard as it did this past August when I lost my grandpa to lymphoma. Words cannot describe the way losing him as touched my life. He was an amazing man who wanted to give his grandchildren the world. He is a hero of mine for the life he lived. Losing him to this was the hardest mountain to face in my entire life.
So whats my reason to relay? My family. My friends. Future generations.
Even the smallest donation can make the biggest difference in this fight. It is something that impact everyones life in one way or another. We all need to stick in this together.

A few days ago, I was able to officially reach my goal of $200! I am proud to be able to raise my goal to $300 in hopes that I can gain that! I have only been signed up for this race for a week! I just wanted to take a minute to thank all of those who have donated not only to myself, but to other people and teams! I will keep updating on how my progress is doing and on any fundraisers I hear of or am apart of.
Thanks to everyone for helping in this fight! It means more then you could ever know!
