My Reason to Relay
My name is Brandon Whiteside. I am the quarterback for Asheville High School. I'm a senior and in my 17 years on earth, watching my family members fight cancer has been the toughest game I've ever played. My grandfather passed away in 2004 from Lung Cancer. 2007 my little sister was diagnosed with Hodgkins. 2009 my mother was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer. My mom and sister are doing well, but even though we are happy about their outcome, so many people will not be as fortunate. My mission is simple. I want to help contribute to remove this disease from exsistence. People say they want to help and they are just words. My heart is dedicated to helping fight cancer in any shape form and fashion. A penny to hundreds of dollars go a long way to help rid the world of this disease. Even when my mom and sister were going through treatment they never missed a game. I can look to the 50yd line and see them both every single game. This is nothing compared to the countless people that have given their life for this disease. Don't let them fight alone, fight with me!!!
