My Reason to Relay

Cancer is a disease that touches too many and too closely.... I've lost family and friends to this beast and that breaks my heart.  The tremendous "but" to it all is that I also have friends and family who are triumphing over cancer and THAT makes my heart sing!

This is my 4th year to Relay with a team from Elgin Elementary School as we join with other Elgin folks in Elgin's own Relay for Life.

If you've never had the chance to be a part of the Relay event, I hope you'll join me!  It's a marvelous experience that is guaranteed to have us all in laughter and tears throughout the night.... and I wouldn't trade that for anything!

...except an end to this disease...! =)

Soooooo, I ask that you join me in the all three areas of the Relay: Celebrating those who've beaten the disease and those who join together to fight; Remembering those who've lost the battle; and, Fighting Back as we work to raise funds for the American Cancer Society.

The money raised through the ACS Relay goes directly to patient/family support, research and education.  It's a cause that is near and dear to my heart.  I long for the day that we no longer hear:  You have cancer.

I know that times are tough ~ and I also know that every $ helps!  If you are able, I hope you'll join me in this fight!  Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
