My Reason to Relay

I Relay because I want to see an end to cancer during my lifetime. Relay gives me the unique opportunity to celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and support the American Cancer Society’s lifesaving mission by fighting back against a disease that has already taken too much.

Please support my efforts to fight back against cancer by making a donation or joining my Relay For Life® team.

I am currently in Houston w/ my wonderful friends while getting tests and speaking w/ numerous doctors. The results show that not only do I have a kiwi shaped tumor growing at the base of my heart/inside the lung, but it brought along a few small friends. I start back on chemo Monday here but I can come home just as soon as I see a few more appts. I might have to manage w/ cancer for the rest of my life, but one thing is for sure: I am LIVING w/ cancer NOT dying of cancer.

My news
As most of you know, I had an abnormal CT scan showing two nodules in my left lung indicating a reoccurrence. My oncologist in Florida is highly recommending a return visit to Houston for further testing. I leave tomorrow night, have tests scheduled for Wednesday and see the doctor on Thursday. I do not know how long this visit will be. Most of you are aware of the taxing this has done on us financially, already. What's to come, who knows? All of your thoughts, well wishes and prayers are so gratefully appreciated. I ask each of you now, will you help me raise awareness of this deadly disease? Join my team, raise funds, gather strength...do it for your friends, your family, do it for me. The more names I see as either on-line donations or new team members to sign up will be my encouragement to stay strong through this next journey I am forced to travel, yet, again. And always remember, I thank you, each of you, who make a difference.

Just getting started...
I just wanted to thank those of you who have already signed up for this May's relay event. I am getting started early this year so that we can make the most of our fundraising events. I welcome any and all ideas. Currently, we are selling Entertainment books for the Venice/Sarasota/Bradenton area. The more we sell the more of a percentage goes to our team. I hope to post of new earnings on our next log in. Thank you!
