My Reason to Relay

I never had an opportunity to meet my mom's mother because at the early age of 38, she died of ovarian cancer.

I lost my mother-in-law this past June after she succumbed to a nearly 3 year battle with lung cancer.

My dad had a melanoma removed 2 years ago.

My grandfather has had melanoma.

I had a basal cell carcinoma removed in 2006 and was told that since I have a family history of melanoma and have had skin cancer prior to the age of 40, I am a very likely candidate for melanoma.

I know a number of women that have battled and/or are battling breast cancer - these are beautiful and wonderful women that are (or were) also mothers, wives, sisters, daughters, co-workers and friends.

My list could go on and on.  That's the problem...so let's work together on the solution!
