My Reason to Relay

I Relay because I want to see an end to cancer during my lifetime. Relay gives me the unique opportunity to celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and support the American Cancer Society’s lifesaving mission by fighting back against a disease that has already taken too much.

My wife and I have been searching for the best way to help support the fight against cancer ever since she was diagnosed with cervical cancer in April 2007.  The day was April 26, 2007 and within a few short weeks, she was on the operating table.  Thankfully, her Doctor gave her the good news before leaving the hospital - they got it all and she would not need to undergo radiation or chemotherapy.  Since she was diagnosed, two close friends have also battled cancer and I also lost an uncle in May of this year to cancer.
