I have had enough!

What's my reason to relay?  I am TIRED of cancer! I am tired of cancer hurting those that I love, taking them away from me, and I am tired of cancer hurting those that are left behind when someone is taken.  I have watched two wonderful women be taken away from cancer - both within only two months of each other...

Evelyn Kalpin - A woman whose love for children continues to inspire me. Who saw potential in me - a teacher assistant who can be a supervising teacher. Who loved her preschool children so much that she never forgot their names - their parents names, even their pet's names.  A woman who lost her life before she was done with her work...

Carol Battle - This is the woman that our team carries the name for!  Aunt "KiKi" was a wonderful woman that had life and spirit, generosity and love, humor and heart... And now she is  gone. We watched that vibrant woman drop down to less then 80 pounds and not be able to open her eyes anymore because she didn't have the muscles to do it anymore.

I see schools and businesses and the govemment FREAK out about stupid things like the Swine Flu, for example - and I wonder - WHY AREN'T MORE PEOPLE FREAKING OUT ABOUT CANCER!!  Start requiring kids at school to were sunscreen - get them out for more recess and more gym classes, etc. There are things we can do to help prevent cancer but it still may get us!  More things need to be done - more money for research, more money to help those that can't afford the treatments.... 

I relay - because I am mad - mad that cancer takes lives...
