Partnership Opportunities
Show Your Community You Care
By becoming a Relay For Life partner. There are a variety of partnership levels from which to choose, but each level will provide your company with valuable visibility. In-kind donations are welcome, as well, and there are lots of meaningful underwriting opportunities.
Depending on your level of support, you can get your banner displayed at the entrance to Relay, recognition in our media kits, signage at the event, a speaking opportunity, a full-page advertisement in the Relay program, and more.
Relay is a huge undertaking, providing companies of all sizes with many underwriting opportunities. Honoring cancer survivors at Relay is a cornerstone of the event. A partner might underwrite the cost of a dinner or reception for survivors or pay for their special recognition gift. Partners also are needed to help defray the cost of logistical needs, such as tents, lights, and sound systems. We also need partners for the hundreds and sometimes thousands of bags and candles that are used to create the glowing luminarias that ring the track. Each luminaria represents a loved one who has had cancer and it bears their name for all to see. The ways companies and organizations can lend support are almost limitless.
Foster Greater Employee Pride and Loyalty

Your company’s commitment to the health and well-being of others will inspire a sense of pride among your employees and encourage an improved internal image.
We also have a National Team Program, an excellent way for businesses to participate in the world’s largest nonprofit fundraising event, while boosting employee morale and team-building skills.

Joining Forces with a Trusted Brand!
According to the results of the American Cancer Society's 2007 image study conducted by Harris Interactive, Inc., the American Cancer Society continues to be the most recognized voluntary health organization in the nation, and the most trusted source of cancer information. The public trusts the Society more than they do their own doctors when it comes to cancer information.
Cancer continues to be the public's No. 1 health concern, even though heart disease is the No. 1 killer, followed by cancer. Each year, more than 1.4 million people in the United States find out that they have cancer, and more than half a million will die of the disease.
Your Dollars at Work
By joining the American Cancer Society Relay For Life, you'll partner with a leader in the fight against cancer. Since 1946, when it began its research program, the American Cancer Society has invested $3.4 billion in cancer research. The Society takes pride in funding innovative young researchers when no one else will. So far, 42 of the researchers we funded early in their careers have gone on to win the Nobel Prize.
Money raised through donations and events like Relay For Life have allowed the American Cancer Society to be involved in every major cancer research breakthrough of the century:
- Pap smear to detect cervical cancer
- Creation of recombinant DNA and gene cloning
- Cure for childhood leukemia with combination chemotherapy
- Lumpectomy and radiation for treatment of breast cancer
- PSA test for prostate cancer screening
- Mammography to screen for breast cancer
- Use of tamoxifen to reduce risk of second or first breast cancer
- Knowledge that genetics, diet, and alcohol abuse can increase a person's cancer risk
- Identification of smoking as a cause of lung cancer
- Use of small molecule inhibitors such as Gleevec for treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia, which is revolutionizing the way cancer is treated
- Discovery of genes for inherited breast and colon cancer
How Can We Help You?

- FightCancer.org, a one-stop source to help employees learn how to improve their health and prevent cancer

Cancer Help 24/7
Cancer never takes a day off, and neither does the American Cancer Society. Our highly trained cancer information specialists are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year to answer all questions related to cancer. Cancer brings with it so many questions and we can answer them, whether they are related to treatment options and clinical trials or pain management and insurance issues. Our callers also link patients and caregivers to local services and support groups, and American Cancer Society Hope Lodges, where patients and their caregiver can stay for free when they must travel far from home for treatment. And, through the American Cancer Society Road to Recovery program, volunteers drive patients to and from their lifesaving treatments. Many times this is the only way patients could keep up with their demanding treatment schedules.
If you, a loved one, or anyone else you know has questions about cancer, call us at 1.800.ACS(227)-2345 - day or night. Having cancer is hard. We believe finding help shouldn't be.
