Relay For Life of the Windham Area

One day. One night. One community. Your Relay For Life^® is about celebration, remembrance, and hope. By participating, you honor cancer survivors, pay tribute to the lives we've lost to the disease, and raise money to help fight it -- all right here in your community. You won't want to miss one moment of this life- and community-affirming event!

There is no raindate. We walk no matter what the weather has in store for us (unless it's REALLY bad, like a tornado). In the past we have walked in freezing weather as well as torrential downpours. We walk with determination and a true purpose!

Event Location
Eastern Connecticut State University Sports Complex

Please note that our event takes place on the baseball field at the Sports Complex, which is located on Mansfield City Road a mile or so down the road (north) from the main ECSU campus. Parking is limited at the Sports Complex, so we encourage you to drop off your supplies and passengers at the event, and then park at the Parking Garage on the Main Campus. Take a right as you exit the Sports Complex. Mansfield City Road becomes High Street as it approaches Willimantic. The entrance to the ECSU Main Campus will be on your right hand side when you reach Windham High School. Follow the signs to the Parking Garage. Shuttles will be running on a regular basis between the 2 sites. Carpooling is encouraged.

Our Relay will be hosting a Cancer Prevention Study!

Our Relay has been chosen as a site for enrolling people in the 3rd Cancer Prevention Study (CPS-3) of the American Cancer Society. Anyone between the ages of 30 and 65 who has never been diagnosed with cancer (unless it was basal cell or squamus cell skin cancer) and is willing to complete questionnaires periodically over a series of years can enroll in a long term study that will help in finding the cause and cure of cancer. Enrollment will take place between 1:00 - 5:00 pm on Saturday, October 17th. Bernard Desrosier & Griswold Rooms, unless otherwise noted.(Enter at the Shea Entrance, which is the main entrance in the back of the hospital.)
