Grow Blue 2017

Why We Grow Blue

#GrowBlueis MRelay's November fundraising initiative that raises awareness for men's health.

1 IN 2 MEN WILL BE DIAGNOSED WITH CANCER IN THEIR LIFETIME. #GrowBlue is about changing that statistic. How? Growing out beards, wearing blue wristbands, recruiting friends to raise awareness, and most importantly, raising funds for the American Cancer Society.

Changing the way in which we talk about men's health issues like testicular and prostate cancer will increase early detection rates. It's time to start openly talking about cancers that impact the men in our lives in the same way we feel comfortable talking about breast cancer!

When Communities Come Together

The money raised through Relay For Life events helps realize the American Cancer Society's mission to save lives, celebrate life, and lead the fight for a world without cancer.

Donations are used to fund life-saving cancer research, patient support services, prevention and education information, and detection and treatment programs. Here's how the money raised last year is helping make a difference.

$406 million

Funding potentially life-saving cancer research grants.

1.2+ million

Calls and chats from patients/caregivers seeking info and support.

456 thousand

Nights of free lodging provided to patients at Hope Lodge®.
