Relay For Life of Cary Apex Morrisville

XSInc - Team Nerd Herder

In 2013, we lost a founding member of the XS family to cancer. Darren’s battle was long; his life much too short. He was a good man. A kind one. He loved to laugh, enjoyed a passion for Starburst candies and Snapple, and always had an ear to lend. There is an emptiness left behind where he once stood. A hole in the hearts of those who knew him. Who loved him. A hole that, in time, can be bridged, but never filled. He is still missed every day in a million tiny ways. By his family. By his friends. By the very air he used to breathe.

We relay for Darren. We relay for his strength. His courage in the face of such terrible uncertainty. His peace. We relay for his family 3 beautiful daughters and a devoted wife. We relay for those who, like Darren, have been taken too soon. Whose own family and friends are left wandering the empty space once filled. Bumping up against fierce longings, bitter regret, sweet memories of a time long before. We relay for those still fighting. We relay for those who will win. We relay for those who will lose. We relay for life, love and because we can.

Please help us relay for Darren and for the millions like him by donating to our relay. Or, walk with us, if you’d rather. We’d love the support and the company.

How We Relay

Cancer has touched all of us in some way. And we want to stop this disease in its tracks. We’ll spend the next few weeks fundraising for the American Cancer Society. Then, on the day of the event, we’ll honor the lives lost to cancer, celebrate survivors, and support the caregivers who so selflessly help others.

Together, we’ll be a part of making a difference in this important cause.
