Los Coyotes Caring for a Cure

KILLING CANCER WITH COLOR

Welcome to the Los Coyotes Caring for a Cure team page! This will be our thirdyear participating in Relay for Life. We had a very successful secondyear, raising over $3,000! Our team is run by student groups and organizations at Los Coyotes Middle School, with help from our amazing teachers and staff. We are looking forward to including more students in the Relay. Our goal is to double our fundraising goal from last year, if not more than that.

Cancer has touched many of us in some way, which is why our students and our staff are so passionate about participating, raising funds and raising awareness about cancer. At our Relay event, we will take turns walking around the track to raise money and awareness to help the American Cancer Society in their lifesaving mission. Join us as we promote our tie dye theme throughout the day. The students chose "tie dye" because they recognize that there are many different cancers that are represented by many different colors. They want othersto realize that cancer can affect any part of the body, and that there is not one cancer that is more important than the others

Our students are already hard at work fundraising! We are utlizing our school events to fundraise, mainly with a "Cancer Sucks Sucker Tree." Weare excited to create games for the kids and teensthroughout the day to fuel our on-site fundraising. We are also working on getting ALLstudents involved in the fundraising process at school by creating classroom challenges and fun events with teachers.

Please join our team or make a donation. If you would like to honor a loved one that is a survivor, is currently battling or has battled cancer, dedicating a luminaria is a wonderful option for only $10. During the event, there is a luminaria ceremony at night, where all participants take the time to honor those battling with heartfelt speeches. The luminarias are lit and line the path as everyone takes a luminaria lap together. It is truly an emotional event that you need to experience.

Thank you so much for supporting our students and our team in our effort to fight back against cancer!
