Hello and Happy Day After Relay!!!!! The weather did not keep us from having a GREAT time last night and I would like to thank each and every one of you that came out to help us CELEBRATE with our survivors and caregivers last night. I hope that each of you had as much fun as I did at our Imagination Station as we hopped aboard the train of HOPE.
We were stopped short last night due to a power outage, so we did not get to announce the winner of our 48 in 48 online challenge which started Wednesday May 18, 2016 at 5:00 pm and ended Friday May 20, 2016 at 5:00 pm. Thanks to teams such as CUREageous Avengers, pURple pEOple, Sean's Peeps, Team Awesome, Team City, and The Woodlands, we were able to bring in an additional $1,812.12 in donations righ before our Relay kick off. This brings me to the winner of our online challenge....DRUM Roll please.....Sean's Peeps, Yes, they will see an additional donation of $500.00 toward their team within the next few days, so congratulations!
I would also like to thank our all of our Sponsors, all of our Team Captains, and especially our committee members whom without we would not be able to pull off this event. The American Cancer Society is a volunteer lead, staff supported event. If not for all the support of our community, we would not be able to hold this event each year. I am truly thankful for all of the wonderful support that I receive each and every year in Cabell County.
The American Cancer Society Relay For Life movement is the world's largest and most impactful fundraising event to end cancer. It unites communities across the globe to celebrate people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and take action to finish the fight once and for all. With the support of thousands of volunteers like you, the American Cancer Society is helping save more than 500 lives a day. Please join us and take action against a disease that has taken too much!
