Fund the One

Hi Great West Relayers!

First, we want to thank you for all of the hard work so far this Relay season. Keep up the hard work and continue to help you Paint Your Communities Purple!

We are excited to announce our 2016 Fund The One Competition, which are set to kick off February 8 across our 12-state division. What does Fund The One mean? Each year, research grant requests are sent to the American Cancer Society for possible funding. Only the top tier grants are deemed “exceptional”, and only a fraction of those can be funded with available funds. When we #FundTheOne, we are focused on raising needed funds to ensure the next research grant has the funding it needs!

As part of our Fund The One promotion, we’re looking for your selfies! Send us a selfie in Relay gear holding up your index finger (#1!) to fundtheone@gwrelay.org and you may be featured on our Facebook page or on GWRelay.org!

There are many opportunities for your event to be recognized, and we wanted to make sure you were the first to know about it! Here’s just an overview of our 4 competitions to help #FundTheOne:

Individual Online Fundraising - Top 5 individual online fundraisers will be winners
February 8-14, 2016

Bring the People: Teams & Relayers - Focus on recruiting teams
February 15-21, 2016
They must register online, no paper forms.

Bring the People: SurvivorsFocus on recruiting survivors that are on a team
February 22-28, 2016

Event Online Fundraising - Winning events will have the highest increase in online fundraising, either by net or percentage.
February 8-28, 2016

Want to know what’s at stake? Prize information and a variety of resources for each competition can be found RIGHT NOW at GWRelay.org/fundtheone – check it out!

We can’t wait to see how you and your communities help the American Cancer Society “Fund the One”! Doing something cool in your Relay community during the month of February? Tag it with the hashtag #FundTheOne or post it to our Facebook page and we’ll be sharing them throughout the month!
