RELAY FOR LIFE

EL SOBRANTE PINOLE

UPDATE

Hello Relayers!

Here are some updates for our upcoming Relay:

Click here for a What to bring to Relay list

  • Next meeting is on August 3rd  we will be at the relay site; Collins school at 6pm.  You can come and pick your campsite that night.  This will be based off the teams that have raised the most money.
  • Bring any money you have to turn in that night and it will be processed.
  • If you want to have power for your campsite, you will need to bring your own “quiet” generator. Denise asks that you make arrangements prior to the event, a way to ensure it will be quiet.
  • There is a great line up of entertainment and bands.  We are still looking for a Fight Back Speaker.
  • Dinner is being supplied by Kinders.  You will need to supply your own lunch or have a lunchtime fundraiser!!  Let Jaime or Denise know if you are having a lunch fundraiser.  We may be having pancakes for breakfast on Sunday.  Let us know if you want help to supply a electric griddle, pancake mix, syrup, butter, plates and utensils.

You can drive in on Saturday between 7am-8:15am to set up but must be off the field by 8:15, after 8:15 you will need to carry, wagon, hand truck in your supplies. There will be people available to help if you need it.

  • We need a couple of people to stay Friday night as security to watch over our supplies.  The Pinole Police have offered to have their officers do more frequent checks but it would be nice to have someone there.  Let us know if you or your team would like to stay out on Friday night.
  • Gopher holes. Be aware that there will be holes and we will do our best to plug them on Friday and Saturday morning.  Watch where you walk when not on the paved track area.

We have been invited to attend the “El Sobrante Stroll & Parade” this year for free.  The date is September 18th from 11-4. We would like to have a relay booth and invite anyone who would like to come and support the event to get survivors, new committee, teams and create awareness, please let us know.  This is an awesome opportunity to reach out to the communities.

A HUGE thank you goes out to our newest sponsor, Rixen Chiropractic, for their generous support!!  Support such as theirs helps us celebrate more birthdays.

Currently, we have raised $10,758.61, reaching 14.5% of our $50,000 goal.  We have 18 teams and 103 participants.

The following at-event fundraisers have been chosen:

Cancer Brute Squad:     Lap beads and lanyards

Brandi’s Cheer for a Cure:    Bouncy house.

If you have chosen an at-event fundraiser, please contact Jamie Vanek at jamie_vanek@yahoo.com.

Our Relay is in need of volunteers to fill the following open positions:

            Fund the Cure Lead,

            Ceremonies and Activities,

            Food, and

            Accounting.

Anyone interested is asked to please contact Jamie Vanek at the email address listed above.

We invite all participants to come out and help support the 2016 Relay for Life of El Sobrante Pinole!

Happy fundraising!
