The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is the world's largest and most impactful fundraising event to end cancer. It unites communities across the globe to celebrate people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and take action to finish the fight once and for all. Today, with the support of thousands of volunteers like you, the American Cancer Society is helping save more than 400 lives a day. And we won't stop until we finish the fight against cancer! Please join us!
Attn. All Participants-
We wanted to let you know that we have had to postpone Friday's Relay For Life event .We know this decision will disappoint many of you who have been working all year to raise funds and prepare for this event, but we believe it to be a sound decision given the weather forecast over the next 48 hours. We did consider moving the event indoors, but our partners at CISD expressed concern over the size of our crowds and the limitations on their facilities may prevent having a safe evening with an indoor event. School grounds are already so saturated, and transportation to and from remote parking present safety concerns during storm activity.
A HUGE thank you to those who have been raising funds to help us reach our goal and surpass the $1 million donation mark for Relay For Life of Southlake. Please continue your efforts to support the 2015 event, we are almost to our goal! Our plan is to announce a new Relay For Life of Southlake date soon and it will be closer to the start of school or early fall. Working together throughout the summer and start of school, we believe our dedicated Relay teams will help us reach our goal!
Thank you to the many supporters of our fight against cancer, and thank you for understanding why we made this difficult decision.
