31 teams and 281 participants have raised $48,927.84

Total above may not reflect all participants, teams, and donations

Thank you to everyone who was able to come out to Relay 2015, those who came out to our wrap up party, and all of our supporters in the community and beyond.  We have had a great season so far!  Remeber the season goes until August 31st :)

Just what does $46,941.59 look like?

100 wigs for cancer patients ($5,000)
35 free weeks of lodging at Hope Lodge for a cancer patient and their caregiver ($17,500)
6 patients enrolled in an American Cancer Society funded clinical trial ($18,000)
Costs for 20 women to attend Look Good Feel Better sessions ($4,000)
Rides to treatment for 61 cancer patients through the Road to Recovery Program ($671)
40 breast cancer patients connected to a survivor mentor through the Reach to Recovery Program ($960)
45 requests being filled through the toll-free National Cancer Information Center (NCIC) at 1-800-ACS-2345 ($810)

**This is a hypothetical situation if all the money was spent on patient services. Actually, most of our money goes towards life-saving research!

Relay 2015 may be over, but here are some ways you can stay involved with Relay this summer:

  • Send out thank you's to your family and friends who have already supported you.
  • Are you close to the next fundraising level? Ask someone new for a donation to put you a little closer to your goal
  • Reach HOPE Club if you haven't already.  Those white t-shirts are a great way to sport Relay gear and stay cool in the sun - plus slipping on a shirt can help lower your risk of skin cancer! Don't forget to slip, slap, slop, and wrap! Slip on a shirt, slap on a hat, slop on sunscreen, and wrap on sunglasses.
  • Consider a post event fundraiser like one of these!
  • Aim for Grand Club or All Star Club
  • Share your Relay pride on Facebook.

ACS Day at the Ballpark! Come out to see the Southern Illinois Miners play the Lake Erie Crushers on Wednesday, August 26th at 7:05 PM. $7 of your $8 ticket will come back to your team AND cancer survivors get in free!
