Happy Friday Kingston Relayers!

I can not believe that in just 4 short weeks we will be Relaying at Dietz Memorial Stadium -- 80's Style!!!  It is truly hard to believe that the Relay program has been happening for 30 years and that Kingston has held 20 Relay For Life Events!  I look forward to our display of all past Grand Marshals, and I look forward to honoring our esteemed cancer survivors and caregivers!  What do you look forward to the most?  

As we approach our event, I want to be sure you all know that it is still okay to recruit a new member or even a new team.  If you have any questions, just ask.  A new team just registered and they will be virtual!  They are raising the needed funds and helping to create event awareness.  Welcome to all new teams and participants!

An updated schedule of events will post under event information next week.  We have some very exciting things happening!  Lots of Bands, games and contests for adults and children as well as a fully loaded children's activity tent (with that said, children may not be left alone in the tent for hours at a time).

   We will be awarding our "Talk the Talk, Walk the Walk" award in honor of past committee member and Grand Marshal Sheldon Zimbler.  Did you nominate an individual or a team?  We will also be giving out awards for the Best Decorated Campsite, the Best Team Theme and the Most Team Spirit at closing ceremony.  

Team Captains, our Bank Night is coming up this Thursday May 21st at 5:30pm at the NYSUT Building in Kingston.  Please bring all donations raised to date as well as luminaria forms and any more sponsors for track signs.  As previously announced, our t-shirts will now not be available at this meeting.  We will have an additional meeting on Monday June 1st. This will be t-shirt night.  Like all others, the meeting will take place 5:30pm at the NYSUT Building.  We apologize for the delay.

Each year the Dirty Farm Run of Rhinebeck, NY chooses a charity to donate to and this time around they've decided to donate to the Relay For Life of Kingston and they will also be participating in our Relay this year!  The Dirty Farm Run is being held one week before Relay (June 6th, 2015) and we have set up a team called The Dirty Fighters (Fighters, get it? :D ).  Registration is $60 a person.  We will also be there to advertise Relay For Life of Kingston, so please make sure you stop by even if you're not participating in the Run.

Join us for an evening of painting & relaxation, to help us to raise money to support the Relay for Life Team: Love for Chloe Rose. Chloe Rose is a 4 year old little girl battling a brain tumor. We will have an amazing local artist, that will give you a step-by-step lesson on how to recreate a piece of art that you can call your own. Absolutely no artistic experience is necessary!! The class is designed for everyone at every skill level. Classes are about 2 hours with a break in the middle. It will be a cash bar, Cheese, Crackers, Fruit and Veggies will be provided.

 

  • Painting starts at 7 pm.

  • All art supplies are provided by Vine Van Gogh.
