MY REASON TO RELAY:

This year will be mysecond year to officially be apart of the
American Cancer Society's Relay for Life through Norcross High
School.
Cancer has affected nearly everyone somehow throughout their life
whether it's themselves who were affected a family member friends
or even their favorite celebrity. I myself relay specifically for
the three cancer experiences I hold close.

MY GRANDFATHER CHARLES "LEFTY" SANGSTON- On January 10 2011 my
grandpa was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He fought his battle
for
eleven months. Unfortunately he passed in his sleep on November 11
2011 after a courageous battle against his disease.It's been over a
year since his passing and everyday I'm affected by the loss. Being
apart of Relay for Life has been an incrediable healing process for
me and I am grateful that Relay for Lifecontinously helpsme
through it.

LAURA TATE- Ms. Tate is a very close family friend of mine who
discovered she had colon cancer almost 16 years ago. She was pregnant
with who is now one of my best friends and went in for an ultrasound
one day only to discover she had this type of cancer. Luckily they
caught the cancer in time and she made a full recovery. She considers
her daughter to be the one who saved her.

JACQUELINE TATE (MS. TATE'S ELDEST DAUGHTER)- Jacqueline Tate was
diagnosed with Leukemia when she was three years old. For two years
she fought her cancer battle and went through many rounds of chemo.
Thankfully Jacqueline beat her battle and is a healthy young woman
today attending college.

I also relay for all the other individuals who have had to battle
cancer throughout their life whether it is a personal experience or
through a loved one. I want to make a difference in cancer research
and help save as many lives as possible because no one needs to go
through the hard times of dealing with cancer.
