What is Relay for Life?
As an overview for those who might not know, Relay for Life is one night (May 10th-11th, 2013) when the entire community comes together for:
Why I Relay:
This is my second year participating in Relay for Life.
Cancer has always had a presence in my life. Several friends and relatives of mine have battled cancer, and almost everyone I know has been affected by it. My two grandmothers, Laura Fisher and Jean Munzer, both had ovarian cancer. I am doing Relay this year in memory of these two women gone too soon from my life. Participating in Relay for Life is my way of honoring my loved ones and fighting back against the disease that has affected so many of them.
Please join my team (Norcross High School Relay for Life) or make a donation to help the American Cancer Society create a world with less cancer and more birthdays. If you have any questions, feel free to email me at shirah.devorah@gmail.com. Together, we can help make sure that cancer never steals another year of anyone's life!
Additional Information:
My team, Norcross High School, is the world's largest fundraising team for Relay for Life in the world. Last year, we raised about $56,000 for the American Cancer Society as a school. The record high that Norcross achieved several years back was around $103,000, when one of our beloved teachers, Ms. Dorothy Lewis, lost her life to cancer.
Thank you to my supporters!
