What is Relay for Life?

Relay for Life is a community-developed event that honors cancer survivors and remembers those who have lost their lives to cancer. It includes an overnight relay-style event with teams of people camping out around a track, as well as activities that provide entertainment and fundraising opportunities. This year, the Gwinnett Relay will take place on May 4th, 2012.

Why I relay:

This is my second year participating in Relay for Life, and it will be the forst year that I am able to atend the Relay event.

I, like most everybody I know, have been impacted personally by cancer. Both of my grandmothers fought cancer for a great portion of their lives. I am doing Relay this year in memory of my grandma Jean Munzer and my grandmom Laura Fisher. Participating in Relay for Life is my way of honoring important people in my life and fighting back against the disease that has affected so many of them.

Please join my team (Norcross High School Relay for Life) or make a donation to help the American Cancer Society create a world with less cancer and more birthdays. I would appreciate your support. If you have any questions, feel free to email me at music.note@hotmail.com. Together, we can help make sure that cancer never steals another year of anyone's life!

Additional Information:

My team, Norcross High School, is the world's largest fundraising team for Relay for Life in the world. Last year, we raised about $56,000 for the American Cancer Society as a school. The record high that Norcross achieved several years back was around $103,000, when one of our beloved teachers, Ms. Dorothy Lewis, lost her life to cancer.

Cheer me on!

Thank you to my supporters!
