Team: Norcross High School
Event: Relay For Life of Gwinnett on May 10 & 11, 2013
$2,736 raised $3,000 goal
This is my fourth year participating in Relay for Life through Norcross High School. Relay for Life is a 24 hour event in which people will walk a track all day and night to symbolize their support of finding a cure for cancer, a loved one's battle against cancer, and many other personal reasons in the fight against this disease. On May, 10th, 2013, I will again be participating in the Gwinnett Relay for Life as a member of the NHS Relay Team. My participation in Relay, the official fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, has offered some of my most rewarding and memorable life experiences. I have had the fortunate opportunity to be a part of the greater good and help work toward a goal that everyone hopes for - a cure for cancer!
This year, It is my honor and privilege to serve as one of the Co-Captains of the Norcross High School Relay Team. Not only do I have a personal fundraising goal to reach this year, but I have the incredible opportunity to motivate and empower both our student body and our teachers as we work collectively toward our team fundraising goal! Achieving these goals will not be possible without your help!
There are many individuals and families that must cope with the pain and stress of cancer. While each person may have a different reason to relay, we all have the same goal in mind. Cancer affects everyone and this is our chance to take a stand against it! This year, I am dedicating my Relay fundraising in honor and memory of the following people and their families:
Grandpa Vin Maloney, Nancy Herbert and family, Maureen Murphy and family, Maxon Maloney, my Norcross student cancer survivors
Every day, the American Cancer Society is helping us stay well by preventing cancer or finding it at its earliest, most treatable stages. They assist families in finding the best resources to help their friend or loved one deal with a diagnosis and their journey to get well. The American Cancer Society is also rallying communities (like ours!) through events like Relay For Life, to fight back and find cures for this disease.
As we count our blessings for the good health of our friends and family members, please consider making a donation to help the American Cancer Society create a world with less cancer and more birthdays. Together, we can help make sure that cancer never steals another year of anyone's life!
Thank you all for your support!
