"A Decade of Making A Difference"
The journey to end cancer starts with a single step. The American Cancer Society invites you to take that step with us by joining the global Relay For Life movement. When you walk to end cancer at a Relay event, it's your opportunity to not only honor cancer survivors and remember loved ones lost, but also to raise awareness about what we can do to stay well from cancer and raise money to help fuel the world's largest walk to end cancer.
Team Party, Monday, March 12, 6pm, Latt Maxcy Memorial Library
Please remember to bring a donation for food and invite your entire team to attend!
Our committee meeting usually following our team party has been rescheduled for Thursday, March 21, 6pm, Latt Maxcy Memorial Library
Hello everyone, we're a little over 24 hours away from our Relay! I hope you're all excited as we are! A few very important reminders: Though the rain will be cleared and the sun will be up for us tomorrow. Rain or Shine WE RELAY!! Please spread the word, we want to make sure the community knows this and comes out to support us! Cancer patients aren't given the option to quit when things get rough and neither do we! We are all in this journey together! **Side note, your safety is very important to us, many of us will be receiving weather alerts, if there is a risk of severe weather please plan on going to your vehicles until it passes. Teams may begin setting up at 3pm, the campsites will be marked and map will be posted. Please do not move your campsite or take up more space the is needed, please be respectful of your fellow teams. CELEBRATE - Please be sure to line the walking path for the survivors lap and cheer for them as they walk the first lap. They are our celebrities they should be treated like one! REMEMBER - the luminaria ceremony is an extremely important and emotional ceremony, be sure to remain quiet, please pass this along to your teammates and don't be afraid to ask people to STOP speaking around you. Reminder please start turning off generators at 8:45 FIGHT BACK - Relay is an 18 hour journey! Frostproof goes 18 hours. If you have to leave in the middle of the night to take a nap, that is totally ok. However, whatever you do, DO NOT break down your campsite, this creates a domino effect. Please return in the morning support one of our teams selling breakfast and we'll help you break your campsite down. Please let me know if you have any questions. We have some great entertainment, lots of fun activities and themed laps to keep us going through the night (agenda attached), lots and lots of yummy food to be sold and fun games to be played. Keep spreading the word that Relay is tomorrow night! See you soon, we're excited for our Purple Party with a Passion!
