Pacesetters are a select group of walkers who are committed to achieving extraordinary results in fundraising for the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. This category of top fundraisers was created to give the American Cancer Society the opportunity to thank and recognize those individuals who go above and beyond in their efforts to help fight breast cancer.

Joining the Pacesetters Club is easy:

1. Sign up online at your event Web site to participate in your local Making Strides event.
2. Set your individual fundraising goal at $2,000 or higher. Send emails to your friends, family members, and coworkers asking them to help you reach your goal.
3. Once you reach or surpass $2,000 in donations, you’ll be a member of the Pacesetters Club for 2009.

The only requirement for an individual or team member to become a Pacesetter is to reach or surpass the Pacesetter goal for his or her local event.

Once you’ve reached or surpassed this goal, you will automatically become a 2009-2010 Pacesetter and be recognized for your effort:

• Special recognition at Making Strides Against Breast Cancer events
• Special events and programs throughout the year
• Special registration area on walk day
