Why am I walking?

I am participating in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer as the Team Captain for Edifice Extreme Team.  I am motivated personally and am walking in honor of my sister Cathy Mangino.  She was diagnosed at age 46 and had a lumpectomy and was proud to be a survivor for 12-1/2 years.  She received the sad news that the cancer had returned at age 59 and opted for a double mastectomy.  It was difficult to watch her go through the chemo, radiation and loss of hair, which proved to be most difficult for her.  I am glad to report that Cathy has been given a new lease on life and is doing very well thanks to early detection.  I can only hope and pray that Cathy remains cancer free . . . I couldn't imagine my life without my sister . . . Cathy is my inspiration!
