Striding, Surviving & Thriving with Dragon Boat Riding
Snapping Back after Breast cancer Today the diagnosis of breast cancer is not the death warrant it used to be. The new issue, as Abbie Hoffman said of prison reform after he was arrested in 1969 in Chicago, is what to do after you have been cured. I am participating in Strides Against Breast Cancer not only to help the ACS fund programs for research and for services to people needing support every inch of the way; my other reason is to demonstrate that there is a happy, healthy life out there after breast cancer. We do not have to take on the passive role of survivors: we can and should snap back after breast cancer. Being part of a BCS dragon boat team is a terrific way to get back physical and emotional vitality, and even to become stronger than you were before.
