Hair 4 Hooters

I’m walking for:
- My friend Joan Raiford who fought this terrible disease and has been cancer free for 5 years and a true insperation of FUNdraising

and in rememberance of:

- My aunt Laura Irawati who fought breast cancer for 5 years
- My co-worker/friend's mom Aleeta Hendrian who were cancer free for 15 years

I know everyone has a charity that is close to their heart, ACS just happens to be mine. I'll be donating a lock of my hair in the hope of making someone has a better day until we find the real cause and cure for cancer.

Why?
-Obviously, we need a cure for cancer since everything causes cancer (from sunshine, to cigarettes, to sugar substitutes)
-They have great programs
     o All donations remain locally
o Road to recovery – volunteers take patients to treatment, so friends and family don’t have to choose between work and family
- ACS is cost efficient
o They spent only 11 cents of every dollar raised (more $ to support the cause)
o Their over head costs are low because they minimize staff and rely heavily on volunteer driven programs

If you choose to write me a check (instead of donating in this page), please make it payable to “American Cancer Society” and send to:
10925 David Taylor Dr, suite 180, Charlotte, NC 28262

I know the economy is tough right now, and I understand that you probably don’t have the extra money to donate, but please consider
o          Donating what ever you would spend in the bar during happy hour
o          Emptying your pockets, I would gladly take your change. Every dollar counts!

Here are some suggestions if you prefer to help out in a way that doesn’t involve money.
-           Join my team to walk during the event
-           Be a team captain
-           Volunteer for ACS – Making Strides Against Breast Cancer in your city
-           Forward this link to everyone in your address book

Please let me know if you can participate and how. I will include it in my website, so we can track everything we accomplished.

It’s time to give back, no matter how small we can make a difference.

So far...
I can't do it without you! I really appreciate everyone's support so far!
As I promised...
my friend Shanti joined the walk in CA.
Dave Scott donated to two different people for ACS
my friend Dan donated his time and talent for the logo for hair for hooter, which look amazing.
I'm thinking to get the logo on t-shirt and send it to you who donate $50 or more. Please let me know your shirt size if you're interested. All proceed will be going toward ACS!
