Why am I walking?

As most of you know, I was diagnosed with invasive breast cancer earlier this year, the day before my 31st birthday on March 24, 2009.  I have been undergoing aggressive chemo treatments all summer, had surgery last week and start radiation soon.  I recently learned that I had an almost complete response to the chemo and am basically cancer free.  I want to help ensure that others have the same success as I did and have signed up to walk in the upcoming breast cancer walk to help support the cause.  I hope you will join me in my effort by signing up to join my team or making a donation in support of my participation.

I am part of a larger team called the Primax Warriors.  Our team leader is Laura Macie and our team is currently ranked #4 for on the top donations participants list!!  Laura works in my mom's work building and asked us to join their team earlier this year.  There is one other girl who has been fighting breast cancer this year who's on our team and several others who saw their mother's fight the disease or knew/know others fighting it now or in the past.  Laura has asked me to be the mascot of our team.  I won't be wearing any silly costumes or anything, don't worry. ;-)  Or, maybe I will, we'll see.
