Online Help MSABC

How do I find my way around makingstrideswalk.org?

We've organized our site into 3 main navigation sections and a home page; all accessible from the global navigation bar at the top of every page. You can always get back to the home page as well by clicking the American Cancer Society logo in the top center of any page. The "Site Map" link on the footer gives a good "at-a-glance" overview of the site's contents.

Once you have registered for an event and signed in, you’ll then have access to your dashboard, event page, and personal page as well.

How can I share information on my screen?

On the right side of every page is a floating share bar. It’s called floating because it moves with the screen so you are never without it. You can email, post to Facebook, Twitter or Google+, and print from this menu.

  • Internet Explorer 9.0 or higher, IE Edge

Money raised through Making Strides Against Breast Cancer events helps fund the mission of the American Cancer Society: to save lives, celebrate lives, and lead the fight for a world without cancer.

We are:

  • Investing in innovative breast cancer research to better understand, prevent, find, and treat the disease.
  • Providing free, comprehensive information and support to those touched by breast cancer in every community, when and where they need it. Helping people take steps to reduce their risk of breast cancer or find it early when it is most treatable.
  • Supporting patients in recovery. If your friend is losing her hair because of chemotherapy, your mother needs a ride to treatment, or a loved one needs a place to stay while getting treatment away from home, we have trained, empathetic people waiting and willing to help, and programs to meet most needs. Welcome to our Team Page. We’ve formed a team because this cause is important to us. We want to help. And walking and raising money in our local American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event is the best way we can do that. We all have different reasons for participating but we share a determination to help save lives from breast cancer.

There are so many ways that the money our team raises helps. It’s helping fund innovative research. It’s providing free information for people dealing with the disease. It’s providing rides to treatment and places to stay for people who have to seek treatment far from home. In short, our money is helping save lives. Consider donating to our team and helping advance the cause.

How We Support the American Cancer Society

Of course we walk in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event. And we solicit donations from family, friends, and other supporters. But we also schedule fundraisers in lead-up to the big event. Bake-sales, car washes, and countless other types of events. And we promote those on social media, through Facebook and Twitter, by word of mouth, and through flyers at work and around the neighborhood. The success of fundraising events depends on two things - hard work and getting the word out. And we're out to do both. Keep an eye out for our fundraising events.
